Technologies at Our Dental Clinic
In our Nepean dental facility, the technologies that we use help to inform treatment planning and make your dental appointments more efficient.
Our treatment rooms are equipped with monitors that allow us to show you the results of your X-rays and walk you through any issues in your mouth and clearly explain treatment options.
Our dental team's goal is to keep our patients as informed as possible about the state of their oral health. The dental technologies in our office help us to do that.
Panoramic X-Rays
Panoramic X-rays allow your dentist to create a single image of your entire mouth. This image is a flat representation of the teeth, upper and lower jaws, temporomandibular joints (TMJ), and nasal and sinus structures.
Panoramic X-rays are often used to help plan for dentures, orthodontic treatment, and extractions.
Digital X-Rays
Digital X-rays use digital sensors instead of traditional photographic X-ray film.
They produce highly detailed computer images of the teeth and gums, as well as other oral structures and conditions, allowing your dentist to examine parts of the mouth that are not visible to the naked eye.
Intraoral Scanners
Intraoral scanners can create digital impressions of a patient's mouth, serving as an alternative to traditional dental impressions which may be a bit messy and time-consuming. Our dentists are able to use an optical scanning wand to take a digital image of your teeth in a few minutes. Our intraoral scanner allows our dentists to capture data about your smile and create digitized replicas of your mouth's hard and soft tissues.
